‘We shut it down!’: Hundreds of Trump supporters shut down Garden State Parkway

“We shut it down, baby! We shut it down!” a man is heard saying in the video. It’s unclear for how long the section of the highway was closed.

“I can confirm there was a motorcade. It stopped at Cheesequake (Service Area) and eventually continued north,” Thomas Feeney, a Turnpike Authority spokesman, said. “It backed traffic up for about 5 miles. The vehicles exited at [Interchange] 135 [Clark/Westfield].”

New Jersey Trump supporters also made headlines this weekend after Facebook removed a private page with nearly 30,000 followers just days ahead of the election.

“People are really, really mad,” the co-director of New Jersey Women For Trump, Priscilla Confrey, said. “When you have that many people and they’re shut down, they feel silenced.”

The page with 29,000 followers was removed sometime Saturday afternoon without warning, according to NJ.com.

“It was a lot of work over the past year for a private group to just be shut down without notification,” Confrey said. “Three days before Election Day? That is absolutely appalling.”

President Trump voiced his outrage over the page’s removal, demanding that Facebook reinstate the page.
